When I started spinning I mixed wool into my nettle spinning since the wool scales provide a bit of grip. Bast fibres don't have scales so the fibre slips apart much easier. Lovely yarn though, so I will practise practise practise...
My yarn wraps to 30 WPI, however the wonderfully experienced Amanda Hannaford (MandaCrafts), who gave me a tutorial, manages an amazingly fine 60 WPI from pure nettle fibre - gorgeous and fit for weaving shirts for bewitched princes!
